Childcare Program – Client Policies
ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS

Childcare is available for children 6 months to 10 years old.

Children must be the biological, adoptive, or legal children of the client receiving services (no outside drop-offs, babysitters, grandparents, etc.)
-
Parents must remain on The Nest Beauty Services premises at all times.
-
Maximum stay: 4 hours per visit.
CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT PROCEDURES

Parent/guardian must sign each child in and out.
-
Children must be picked up by the parent receiving services or an adult on the Authorized Pick-Up List.
-
Staff will perform a visual wellness check (see Illness Policy).
HEALTH & ILLNESS POLICY
To protect all children, a child may not be checked in if they show:

Fever of 100.4°F or higher
-
Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours
-
Rash of unknown cause
-
Persistent cough or breathing issues
-
Conjunctivitis (pink eye)
-
Lice, bed bugs or hand, foot and mouth and any other contagious conditions
If a child becomes ill while in care, the parent will be notified immediately and must pick up the child. The front desk will reschedule your appointment.
FEEDING, SNACKS & MEDICATION

No feeding is provided by childcare staff.

No food, candy or snacks allowed in childcare room
-
Break room or waiting room available if needed for snacking, breast or bottle feeding.
-
Staff cannot administer medication.
SAFETY & SUPERVISION
-
Children remain within sight and sound of staff at all times.
-
Staff never supervise a single child alone in a closed room.
-
Safety ratios are maintained based on age and capacity.
-
Emergency procedures are in place for fire, injury, or evacuation.
-
Incident reports are completed for injuries, conflicts, or safety concerns and reviewed with parents.
BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS & GUIDANCE
To support positive behavior and emotional well-being, we use:

Prohibited:

Physical discipline

Harsh correction

Shaming or threats
Behaviors requiring parent pick-up may include:

Aggressive behavior (biting, hitting, kicking)

Unsafe actions that create risk to self or others

Extreme or ongoing disruption
Repeated unsafe behavior may result in temporary suspension of childcare privileges.
ACTIVITIES & ENVIRONMENT
Children enjoy age-appropriate, supervised activities such as:

Sensory activities

Quiet play areas
Activities are chosen to support a calm, creative, and safe environment.
PERSONAL ITEMS
Parents may bring:

Pacifiers

Diapers/wipes

Change of clothes

Comfort items
Not allowed:

Personal toys
-
Electronics
-
Gum, food, or candy
-
Small choking hazards (for young children)
The Nest is not responsible for lost or damaged items.
CLEANLINESS & SANITATION

Toys and high-touch surfaces are cleaned and sanitized regularly.

Bodily fluid incidents are handled following strict sanitization procedures.

The room is kept tidy, clutter-free, and inviting throughout the day.
RESERVATIONS & CAPACITY
-
Reservations may be required during busy hours.
-
Walk-ins are accepted when space allows.
-
Capacity limits follow safety and supervision standards.
LATE PICK-UP POLICY
-
A 5-minute grace period is allowed after services end.
-
After 5 minutes, a $1 per minute per child fee applies.
-
Repeated late pick-ups may affect the ability to use childcare services.
LIABILITY & WAIVER
Parents must sign the Childcare Agreement, Waiver, and Emergency Contact Form before using the childcare program.
The Nest is not responsible for injuries that occur from normal, safe play or from failure to follow childcare policies.
PHOTO POLICY

No photos of children will be taken without parent consent.

Images will never be used for marketing without explicit written permission.
PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Parent must remain on-site at all times.
-
Parent must be available to return immediately if contacted.
-
Parent must provide accurate health, contact, and emergency information.

Parent must review and follow all childcare policies.
